About Speaking and Presenting

The Best Presenters are Made not Born

Elbert Marshall

Where we start

One of the tips all good speakers or presenters tell you is to practice, practice, practice.  Mark Twain said it takes 6 weeks to create a good speech.  One of the best ways to practice is to set up a camcorder on a tripod and film yourself.  It will probably be painful at first, but you will see what the audience will see.  If you can step outside yourself and concentrate on your audience instead of yourself and look at the video dispassionately you can turn yourself into a living and breathing force for your cause.

Welcome to this Website.  I hope to pass on information, examples, tip, videos  and techniques I have learned along the way.   I was such a timid mouse years ago.  My desire to be able to stand up for myself and develop self confidence in front of others lead me toward speaking.  One of the best things I did was to join Toastmasters.
